SUMMARY:Pickleball Plaza & Battle of the Paddles
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Wayzata Depot Pickleball Plaza for two days of all things pickleball\, including a Picklemart where you can shop the latest trends in pickleball apparel and supplies\, test drive a new paddle\, or join a pickleball club. Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.\, we will host 3.0 to 3.75 men’s\, women’s\, and mixed doubles competition\, followed by drop-in play for all comers on the newly paved courts adjacent to the Wayzata Depot. Bring your own paddle\, or we will supply one for open play. Kids\, bring your parents to sign the release of liability form if you want to play. Following is a schedule of activities for the Pickleball Plaza and the format of our tournament. \nTicket Price and Information:\nThis is a pre-registered event with limited spots available. \n$25 per player \nIf you plan on registering a team\, please select “Quantity 2”. \n \n2nd Annual Battle of the Paddles Tournament\nFor 3.0-3.75 on Saturday and Sunday morning; Please self-rate accordingly to ensure quality competitive play. Each bracket will consist of 8 teams organized randomly into 2 pools of 4 teams. Each pool will play a total of 3 games in round robin fashion to 13 points using rally scoring. The top 4 teams in each pool will advance to the playoff round for double-elimination competition. Games to 11 points\, win by 2. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams. This tournament will be held at the Wayzata Depot. \nThe 3.75+ tournament will be held Saturday\, September 6th\, from 1-3 pm and will consist of up to 8 teams. \nEach team can be made up of men\, women\, children\, or mixed of any of these. Please self-rate accordingly to ensure quality competitive play. Play will consist of pool play followed by bracket play. The number and length of games will be subject to the number of participants in the draw. The scheduled timeframe from start to finish is 1-3pm. Players shall count on at least 90 minutes of tournament play. Play will be continuous so plan nutrition and hydration accordingly. SUMMARY:Coaster Cart Derby
DESCRIPTION:ALL KIDS WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE (6-14 yr old)! \nDon’t miss this family event using gravity-propelled vehicles. The Coaster Cart Derby is intended solely as an enjoyable event for youth (boys & girls\, 6 to 14 year olds)\, families\, and spectators. The event is not sanctioned by any recognized competition agency.  A parent or guardian must directly supervise the design and construction of the vehicle\, and guide and train any driver of the vehicle to ensure safe equipment and use of it. The drivers must wear a helmet\, which will adequately protect them. Refer to the official rules. The cost is $25 per driver.  \nThere is a limited number of Coaster Carts available for your use.
